Graham walked out.
His imposing figure obstructed her view. He even closed the door behind him, preventing Lucinda from peeking inside. She had no choice but to inquire, “Graham, what were you guys doing in there? Did you hit him?”
“No,” he responded calmly.
She was left perplexed.
“Did he pass the test?” she pressed further.
“Tell Nathan to come to my villa tomorrow and let’s set a date for your wedding,” he responded, touched her head, turned away, and headed downstairs.
After a brief moment, Lucinda’s realization dawned upon her-Nathan had passed the test!
Overwhelmed with surprise and gratitude, she shouted after Graham.
“Thanks a million, Graham!”
Before she could rush off to find Nathan inside the room, Hilliard appeared, wearing a cold expression. He then shut the door firmly behind him.
“Hilliard, Graham just gave us his blessing. You won’t make things difficult for us, will you?” she implored, seeking reassurance.

Without providing any explanation, Hilliard handed her a notebook and asked, “Take a look at this. What do you think?”
Confused, Lucinda opened the notebook and furrowed her brow at the messy handwriting before her.
“I can’t make out this scrawl. Did you ask Nathan to write this?” she questioned, struggling to decipher the illegible and smudged words on the page.
Hilliard responded, “I feel the same way.”
He pinched her cheek and added, “Consider it a set of family rules for Nathan once you two tie the knot.” With that, he turned around and took his leave with a cold demeanor.
Lucinda deduced that Nathan’s success in the test had been confirmed, considering Hilliard’s mention of the rules being for him.

However, a gnawing suspicion crept into her mind. She scrutinized the words on the page again and glanced at Hilliard’s aloof and arrogant figure.
“The three of you are so cruel to him! What have you done? There’s no way his handwriting could be this awful!”
During dinner, Graham had casually mentioned breaking Nate’s hands or legs. Could he have really done such a thing?
Worries about Nathan consumed Lucinda more and more.
Then, Cyrus walked out.
He patted her shoulder with satisfaction and only said, “Not bad!” He then also left.
